Sven-Goran Eriksson, born in Torsby, Sweden, February 5, 1948, have not managed to repeat his performance with the Italian club, Lazio. Since dealing with the English national team in 2000 with a five-year contract period, Eriksson failed to take England to win the European Cup, let alone the World Cup. He was forced to leave his seat as coach of England national team in 2006.
In 2007, he was appointed as coach of Manchester City, but lasted only a year, also with a form of early termination.
Since then, Eriksson ventured coaching national teams of Mexico and Ivory Coast national team coach, but both failed to fairly Eriksson eventually dropped the class so far to get a job, with a landing at Leicester. As a player, Eriksson is not well known because it only played in the clubs under the boards in the country. The highest gait him as a player is playing in division two with clubs Karlskoga (1972-1973).
He retired as a player in 1975 at the club Vastra Frolunda then offered as an assistant coach Tord Grip at Degerfors.
In 1977, Grip was appointed as assistant coach of the Swedish national team. Eriksson also later became coach of Degerfors. During his leadership, the Degerfors managed to climb into the class and the Swedish second division in 1978.
Eriksson's success attracted the attention of Goteborg club management. Eriksson was then joined by Gothenburg in 1979. In his first season, he managed to win the Swedish National Championships. Achievements he growing with the success of Goteborg won the treble, as league champions, national champions, and won the UEFA Cup by beating Hamburg, 4-0, in the final in 1982.
Eriksson's coaching achievements at the club reached the top of Lazio. He joined the club since 1997 and invite Tord Grip as his assistant. Together with this club, he won the Coppa Italia and Italian Supercup in 1998 and 2000, the 1999 European Cup Winner's Cup and Serie A Italian League champions 2000. That success made him the most successful coach in the history of the club Lazio.
Eriksson is the first non-British citizens who led the English national team. He began working on the England team in 2001 and then destroyed the main rivals England, Germany, with the score 5-1 in a test match, 1 September 2001. Unfortunately at the 2002 World Cup, England eliminated in the quarter-finals after losing 1-2 to Brazil who played with 10 players. 2006 World Cup qualifying round become the beginning of the "fall" Eriksson. For the first time in the history of Britain since 1972, England lost to Ireland, 0-1. In July 2006, Eriksson was forced to leave his position as coach of the England team after England again defeated Portugal in a penalty shootout in the quarter-finals.
