Questions About Nfl Lines

James asks…

Anyone know where I can get the NFL opening lines each week and how they have shifted over the week?

I'm looking for the opening lines from Vegas which are usually considered the official lines for the week. I'm trying to track the progress of the NFL lines and how they have shifted over the course of the week and if there is a website or other free resource that will show me the moves the lines have made over the course of the week.

admin answers:

My Yahoo! Pick'Em League tracks the lines as they change throughout the week. Go to this link. It is easy to set up a team with your Yahoo! Account. You can track all future lines and look at past ones as well.

Ken asks…

when is the best time to wager on sportsbook nfl lines? on monday when the lines are first up, or before games?

or before the game actually starts on saturday?

admin answers:

Always on the last day, because of the injury report and weather

Chris asks…

Does it surprise you that the two best rushing attacks in the NFL have the two worst offensive lines?

The Chiefs and the Raiders have the 1st nd 2nd best rushing attacks according to NFL.com, but the 31st and 32nd best offensive lines according to NFL.com.

admin answers:

I find it more contradictory than surprising. As good as the defenses are in the NFL, you are NOT going to have the best rushing attacks in the league without good blocking in front of you. Since the teams have the best rushing attacks by statistics, that means that whatever you read on NFL.com is bull. This is not the first example of that.

Carol asks…

Can anyone post the NFL betting lines for this weekend?

Will give best answer!
I cant go to any of those sites while I'm at work. Thats why I came here, hoping someone can post them for me.

Questions About Nfl Lines Odds

Linda asks…

Understanding NFL point spreads, odds, and game lines?

Is there a website that tells you about point spreads, odds, and game lines? I really don't understand it very much.
Yeah, I already tried that.

admin answers:

Well I know of two ways of wagering on football games, and that is taking the point spread, or the over/under.

Point spreads are what each team is given or taken away from their point total at the end of a game. I.e. Texas Tech -3.5 vs OK State would mean Tech needs to win by at least 4 points to cover the "spread". If you see a negative sign, that means that team is the favored to win the event, if there is no + or - then it is considered a draw, and you simply just have to pick the winner of the game...no points are given or taken for either team.

Over/Unders is point totals for BOTH teams combined in a game. I.e. USC vs Oregon State 71.0 is asking you do you think the combined points will be more or less than 71....comprende?

Helen asks…

NFL/NCAA weekly lines?

Where can I get weekly lines/odds for NCAA and NFL in an Excel format?

admin answers:

In Excel? You'd have to download that....why not just go to oddsmaker.com and get it from there? That's what I use....how are you going to place a bet on an Excel spreadsheet? If you're just wanting to make a printout to thumb through when you take a dump or something (like I used to do back in the day) just copy/paste onto Word. Be forewarned tho, NCAA lines go for 4-5 pages.

Ken asks…

Where can i get text alerts/txt messages for sports odds and lines?

i want to be able to text a number and receive back txt messages for all sports like NFL NHL MLB NBA and college of what there odds are including money lines and over/unders. i dont have the internet so i cant go to a website on my phone and i also cant download any applications for it either.

thanks very much for your help

admin answers:

Sounds like your looking for txtFeeder. Its free.

I've not searched for betting odds before, but search for it on the site. If you can find an RSS/ATOM feed with that information, you can get it sent to your mobile via text messages using txtfeeder.com.

Helen asks…

Is it just me, or is there always someone asking about how to watch NFL games online for free?

Every time I pull up the Yahoo! NFL Home Page, I always see a question in the Yahoo! Answers box that says something along the lines of: "Where can I watch NFL games for free online?" Anyone else tired of seeing that and instead want to see some REAL football questions? lol

Just wanna make sure I'm not crazy or something lol

admin answers:

I noticed it too. Whenever I see one, I hit their profile and it seems they are almost always a very new member.
I'm guessing there is a spam/troll angle to it...
