Questions About Nfl Scores Espn Week 1

Carol asks…

Who will have the best week in Fantasy Football?

You get 1 guess, and you can pick any NFL player that has yet to play.

If you guess the person who gets the highest point total, you get the 10 points.

~1 GUESS EACH. ESPN Fantasy Football Scoring.

admin answers:

Philip Rivers, even though i don't like him. You are talking Monday night right? Am I the only one that understood the question?

Lizzie asks…

Who do I start this week?

Mike Williams (SEA) vs 29 ranked atl pass defense
Steve Johnson (BUF) vs 10 ranked mia pass defense

May I add that Lee Evans is now on IR so Steve Johnson is now #1. Mike Williams played good when he started.

Steve Johnson stats: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/gamelog?playerId=11458
Mike Williams stats: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/gamelog?playerId=8425

Standard Scoring not PPR.

admin answers:

Id go with 'Johnson. Both havent been the best this season but johnson has big play potential

Ruth asks…

Does anyone else HATE Rich Eisen of NFL Network?

If you dont, then you either do not watch him enough, or you dont know enough about football

Unfortunately, loving football like I do, Once a week is not enough for me. I need more football, and ESPN is UNBEARABLE now

I dont care about bowling and golf and horse racing and tennis and Stuart Scott sucks, hes not funny - and the BEST EVER FOOTBALL Show in HISTORY was NFL Primetime with Berman and Jackson

they cancelled it - not because the ratings were bad, they were GREAT. And thats why they cancelled it - so they can split it up into little segments called "The Blitz" and spread it out over an hour and half of Sportscenter - which is OK on Sundays, I like Dilfer and so on

but most of ESPN People are terrible and they show constant useless nonesense

So I am forced to watch NFL Network to get all the football I want

dont get me wrong, most of NFL Network staff is just awful. Jamie Dukes is a piece of trash, Michael Irvin knows nothing about football outside of WR

Deion Sanders is cool, and he is very smart

but Rich Eisen, my god, he is so retarded. He has such little football knowledge. He does the Total Access and he does little cameos on shows like Top Ten ect..

and EVERY chance he gets, he loves to profess his Gay Man-LOVE for Tom Brady, just because he went to the same College as Brady (Mich.) 30 Bald-Free years before Tom

He constantly tries to show people up and act like he is better than everyone else. He tries to One-Up people like Deion Sanders

Are you kidding me? Hey Eisen - you are a fat pasty useless waste of space, and Deion is one of the best all-around athletes of all time. Are you sick? You do not belong on a Pedestal, I know you think you do, because you went to the College that Brady went too, but that doesnt mean anything.

I went to the same Mall as Thurman Thomas and Jim Kelly, does that make me cool too!?!?!?

His opinions are awful - Examples

1 - On "top ten" he said Mich. was the BEST all time school for pumping out good NFL Players, the idea was the schools ranked to #1 had to give out the most NFL Players that did good things like Pro Bowls and Super Bowls and records ect.... and Michigan was ranked #5 or 6 or w/e and he was FURIOUS. The whole show, long after Michigans thing was up, in EVERY OTHER Segment he kept complaining. His reason, and I quote - "Two Words, Tom Brady"
What? thats ONE Person, and he is not even the best QB of all time. Sure he is up there - but one GREAT QB? Why... cuz you went there? he was actually upset about it, what a freak

2 - then over the 76 Buccs vs 08 Lions as the worst team of all time dispute, He argued the Lions were worse "0-16, period" ok.. well TB lost 26 in a row, Detroit lost 18 i think? and Detroit actually got close in some games, scored alot of points in some. TB was terrible, coudlmt score, allowed a million points, and they went Winless in one season, and ALMOST in another until the 2nd last game

sure it doesnt matter who is worse - its close - but you cant say "0-16, period" because thats RETARDED. TB LOST MORE GAMES. I mean he just is so bad, everything he says is terrible

And he ALWAYS Defends New England. Every Penalty on them is a bad call according to him. On the show Official Review with the head Referee of the League, he ALWAYS trys to put in Patriots Games, and usually he is friendly with the Ref - but with calls that go against NE he gets snippy and bitchy, he is so pathetic

I CANT BELEIVE he is the face of that network. The NFL needs to get a new face. and NOT Steve Sabol cuz he sucks too. Get someone who actually has played or coached in the NFL. Not just some clueless journalist who has ZERO CREDIBILITY.

I know this is long, I know most people dont care - but I just wanted to include everything so it comes up in google, and so when people look him up, maybe they will see this, and make posts of their own, that way, the internet can be flooded with Rich Eisen HATRED

He sucks, hes terrible, he is pathetic, he knows nothing about football, he looks goofy, talks like an idiot, tries to be funny and is sooo far from it, and he actually thinks he is better than everyone around him

Why... cuz your on TV? you suck eisen, you suck. your awful and I hate you

admin answers:

I'm sorry.You lost me.

I stopped reading your rant after you said that Deion Sanders was SMART!?!?!?!

Mary asks…

what does everyone think of the RAW rating for last night?

For the second week in a row, RAW scored a 3.8 cable rating. RAW did hours of 3.7 and 3.9. On a side note, WWE RAW beat the NFL preseason game on ESPN.

http://www.wrestling-edge.com/wwenews.php?subaction=showfull&id=1187132220&archive=&start_from=&ucat=1&

Also another question.

What would YOU rate RAW last night from 1-10. 10 being the best?

admin answers:

I would give it a 8

I KNOW I CAN GET IT ONLINE!! HOW COULD I IMPORT IT IT TO EXCEL?????
AND MAKE IT UPDATE ON MICROSOFT EXCEL?

I would recomend Access since it works better with database. But if you are using excel. Click on "Data," "Import External Data," then "New Web Query," and then type in the website that contains your data.

Thomas asks…

Where Can I find Predictions of the Scores for NFL Games?

Where can I find the predicted scores of upcoming nfl games, weekly.

admin answers:

You can find odds on most any sports related web sites, like Yahoo, MSN, ESPN, etc. Odds show what vegas thinks the score will be decided by (i.e. -7 means the team with -7 is a seven point favorite), but you'll have to look for shows like ESPN (the Schwammie), or subscription material to actually find the estimates for the total scores....oh, and look later in the week so people can handicap both injuries and the weather. Or, you could just ask Q's here in individual games.

Questions About Nfl Scores Yahoo Answers

George asks…

Should the NFL change their name to the NGL?

To avoid confusion. When people think of the word football, what springs to mind? 22 people kicking a ball to each other with the view of scoring more goals than their opponents, by KICKING the ball into the goals. That's football.

Football's global governing body is FIFA, an acronym for Fédération Internationale de Football Association (International Federation of Association Football)

We can all agree that Football is the biggest team sport in the world.

But a foreign organisation has chosen to call themselves the NFL, when they have nothing to do with football, they play Gridiron. A foreign game. That would make it plagiarism to use the term football, when it's not. In doing so, it just creates confusions. No more evident than on Yahoo Answers.

I believe the NFL should change their name to the NGL, to have their game unique as they want it to be.

NGL - National Gridiron League. You know it makes sense

admin answers:

There are sports leagues with the exact same abbreviation

Example AFL could stand for Arena Football League and Australian Football League

So why should any sport like American Football Australian Football change its name just to make FIFA happy

Betty asks…

Wouldn't it be awesome if NFL teams had marching band teams in support of that team?

When you go to a college football game or a high school football game to support your school or team, what do you notice when your game opens up before kickoff and during halftime (most of the time)?

Before kickoff, you will sometimes see your school's marching band or pep band playing the national anthem, and during half-time, they'd usually put on a good show (especially show style marching bands).

Wouldn't it be cool if each NFL team had something like that? It would be like having an NFL band per team, and you'd have that same cool atmosphere and sounds of real instruments playing in the background as you watch your favorite professional team beat each other to pieces, and trying to score.

It's a pretty far-fetched thought, but just imagine it...

A team would be playing, and in the background, you'd hear awesome instrumental versions of your favorite songs.

It would be like how a college football player dreams of The NFL, the band members would dream about joining a team band.

What would the public (Yahoo Answers) think about this?

admin answers:

It's not exactly farfetched as you may think, as both the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Ravens have their own marching bands. More teams might have some too, but I know for a fact those two teams do.

Maria asks…

What lesser known info can you tell me about your NFL team - for fantasy scoring purposes?

Ex.
I'm an Eagles fan. Went to the game last week and have been following for years.

The Eagles are generally a 60% pass / 40% run team - sometime going closer to 70% / 30%.

Kevin Kolb in his very first start at QB threw the 12th most passing yards in th entire history of Eagles QB's. Bottom line, Reid loves the pass regardless of who is QB'ing. Offensive line is experienced and has played a large part (duh?) in the career of Westbrook. Yes of course Westbrook is a gifted athlete also. I believe he has a good deal left in the tank but LeSean McCoy is getting some rushes and receptions each game.

I like Jason Avant as a possession receiver, he is very reliable and seems to have developed an accord with Kevin Kolb who is filling in for McNabb. Guestimation - he will continue to get on avg 4-5 receptioons for the remainder of the year and is likely a free agent in your Fantasy league - if you need help at WR this week or any week.

Jeremy Maclin WR - will be the number 2 WR once he is eased into the system in my opinion?? Andy Reid is usually slow with WR rookies, the only exception in his 10 years coaching was Desean Jackson, last year who proved he can handle the role.

Brent Celek TE - McNabb has a high trust factor which seems to have developed at the end of last season, he is making a very good name for himself in the system. He is the TE the vast majority of the time on the field and rarely shares the position.

Kevin Curtis WR - has electric moves and is not afraid to go over the middle of the field - unfortunately I have not seen him used much last year (injury) or this year. Technically listed as #1 WR on depth chart - if so - poor production at the position. He will likely put up better numbers before the end of the year but how much better?

Philadelphia Defense (if you play defenses in your fantasy league) - I would stay away from them
IF Kolb is starting and the Eagles are playing against a good QB (Lik Brees). If McNabb is playing, play their defense every week - McNabb has good ball control and he is ranked number 1 all time of every QB in regards to lowest interception percentage.

What can you tell me about your favorite NFL team - I'm looking for WR and RB info most of all - but will listen to other info.

I'm not perfect and I made some predictions, please do the same!
Back to the offensive line - Brandon Peters looks to be a great pickup, he can throw a defender backwards on a run play and will go downfield to help his RB. He does not seem to be lazy or tire out. All the better for the running game and short passes.

admin answers:

Pittsburgh Steelers

Offense:
QB- Roethlisberger, solid. Will pass alot more this year. With maturation of Holmes, Sweed ahould have great year. 30 tds 20 ints

RB- Willie Parker, not so hot. With a weakened running game should only post moderate #'s 950 yds 7 tds

WR- Hines Ward, Good possession receiver. 1100 yds 6 tds
Santonio Holmes, Breakout year. 1400 yds 10 tds
Limas Sweed, Deep threat. Caught everything thrown at him in preseason and camp.

TE- Always value here. Good luck picking between Miller and Spaeth.

K- Jeff Reed, average kicker. He sure can beat up a towel dispenser when drunk in a sheetz bathroom though!

Def/ST- Solid unit. Though Polamalu is out now, still a good play. Should be near the top in D again this year. ST/KR Logan is a beast. WILL return 4 this year.

Hope this is helpful

What are the odds Brady doesn't get injured?

The patriots are the evil empire in the NFl and they run up the score when the game is clearly over. What are the odds someone knocks brady out and what team will do it

admin answers:

No one is going to injury Brady for a few reason: He is too good, also his defensive team is keeping everyone away and though he has been sacked a few times, no one took him out. He's young, he's know the game & his team, he 's protected and face facts they are the Patriots, they rule! Take Care!!

PS: if it was ever gonna happen it would have already and it never did in the other SuperBowls and won't this year when they win either...... And they will win!

Sandra asks…

Has there ever been an NFL game where one team ended with 4 points?

Has a team ever scored 2 safeties and nothing else? It would be odd, but it seems like stranger things have happened.

Yes it happened one time....in 1923. The Racine Legion beat the Chicago Cardinals 10-4.

Questions About Worst Nfl Scores History

James asks…

Who is the worst team in NFL History to go and play in a Superbowl?

I think that the worst team to go to a super bowl is the 2008 Arizona Cardinals.I mean they were 9-7 and my Patriots were 11-5(didnt even make the playoffs) and we crushed the living day lights out of them in a snowy foxboro game on December 21,2008 47-7.Also the Jets scored 56 points against them also the Philles 48-20.I have never seen a team with 9 or less regular season wins in the Superbowl.

admin answers:

Not even close. 2000/2001 Ravens.

They were ranked 14th on Offense, 20 Passing TDs in 16 weeks - to go with 19 Interceptions, 9 Rushing TDs. If it wasn't for their massive defense this year, they would've finished sub-500.

The 08 Cardinals were Ranked like 3rd in Offensive Points. The Cardinals Defense this year was pretty weak. Probably ranked around 26 if I had to guess.

As far as "Your Patriots" go - beating someone up in Foxboro in the Winter is worth about as much as beating the Lions. Guess it's a shame they got blasted 38-13 by the Dolphins who ran the same play 5 times on them with success isn't it. Don't use the Tom Brady injury as an excuse either - they had a more than acceptable replacement.
Didn't the Jets win in New England in the middle of November in cold, rainy weather too?

Nancy asks…

do you think the Packers sunday 7-3 loss to the Lions is the worst in NFL history?

the final score was 7 to 3 Detroit Lions. if that isn't, what is?
i meant what was the worst score total in a game by any NFL team.

admin answers:

Two or three years ago the steelers beat the dolphins 3-0.

Carol asks…

are the 2006 oakland raiders possibly the worst team in nfl history?

what a joke......."just win baby?" al davis should change his motto to "just score...PLEASE!!" absolutely pathetic team...i hope they go 0-16.

admin answers:

Worse than the '05 Texans, '06 Titans? Maybe. Titans and Raiders will both finish 0-16.

Ken asks…

worst score margin?

can somebody tell me what the worst score margin in nfl history is? if you can, include what the score was and the 2 teams playing. thanks.

admin answers:

The Chicago Bears beating the Wasington Redskins 73-0. The #2 would be The Miami Dolphins losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars 62-7.

Questions About Nfl Scores History

Robert asks…

Was the Monday night game in Pittsburgh the lowest scoring game in NFL history?

I think there was a college game that ended 0 - 0 in oregon once. That stupid game last night had to be the lowest scoring game in recent NFL history. Thank god I did not watch it. I think anyone who did is probably brain dead from boredom.

There was a game in the 1940's in Detroit that ended in a 0-0 tie. You did miss a pretty.....interesting.....game. It was soooo soggy and the field was in terrible condition, so it made for a good game.

Questions About Nfl Scores 2010 Patriots

Carol asks…

Jets @ Patriots 2010?

So your prediction for this game??? i predict the Patriots win...31-17...the Jets offense has not looked good recently and the Pats D has had very opprutunistic turnovers....The patriots currently have the top scoring offense in the NFL and don't froget who is at the helm. Tom Brady. The pats also have the home field advantage and without Randy Moss the patriots have won everygame but one, while the Jets have won many close games including 2 in overtime...i feel that Tom Brady will break the record for consecutive wins at home next monday night....anyway what are your thoughts...
the colts Donald Brown is a good running back and the Colts have a decent enough running game...the patriots run defense the past couple of weeks has been outstanding...

admin answers:

Patriots win 38-24

The Jets are an incredibly stacked team, but they have struggled against really bad teams over the past few weeks. Not to mention, they have only played 3 winning teams this season, and only beat 1 of them. The Patriots are an incredibly strong team at home and Tom Brady hasn't lost there since 2006. It will be a close game until the 4th quarter, where the Patriots defense will come up with a big turnover that will put them in position to take a 2 score lead and win the game.

Personally I think the Patriots have a huge advantage over the Jets, Darrelle Revis covers the #1 receiver and shuts them down, but the Patriots don't have a true #1 receiver. So whoever Revis covers and takes out of the game, Brady will just pick them apart with somebody else. That matched with the fact that Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL against the blitz... It is going to be a long day for the Jets' defense.

David asks…

Colts @ Patriots 2010?

so who wins this upcoming week........this is no doubt one of the best rivalries in the NFL and a matchup of the two best QB's in the league...i think it will be close however i think the Pats will proove to much and Tom Brady will get his 25 consecuative home win final score: Pats 31 Colts 24
Everyone notices the Colts injuries/new players but not the pats....for the pats

Woodhead(new player)
Green-Ellis was the 3rd string RB coming into this year
Tate(2nd year player...last year did not play a single game due to knee injury)
Gronkowski(rookie TE)
Hernandez(rookie TE)

those are 5 new play makers....granted Clark is out for the Colts...
the patriots have had there fair share of injuries to don't get me wrongin just saying they are new players from the beginning of the year...woodhead was signed week2. Faulk is out for the year...Ty warren....out for year...mankins held out....lost Randy moss

admin answers:

I can't agree with you more, I think the Patriots finally take it to the Colts this year and end their losing streak now that we're back in Foxborough.

Also, you're right, everybody wants to make excuses as to why the Patriots are winning... "oh this guy is hurt and this guy is a rookie". The Patriots are starting 24 players this year that are only in their 1st or 2nd season as a pro... Hell our starting corner Devin McCourty is a ROOKIE! If and when the Patriots beat the Colts, everybody will come out in defense of the golden boy Peyton Manning and talk about how the Patriots just got lucky because Manning didn't have Clark to throw to, and Bob Sanders wasn't in the game or whatever. Other than Tom Brady and Vince Wilfork, the Patriots might as well be fielding an MF'n college team every Sunday. Go Pats!

Richard asks…

NFL all time matchup tournament?

If all these teams played each other who would win?
1.1985 bears vs 1992 cowboys
2.1984 49ers vs 2007 patriots
3.1977 steelers vs 2008 arizona cardinals
4.1999 rams vs 2010 packers

please leave results and score!
Update: I didnt realize i had forgotten the '72 dolphins....
Update: this isn't a list of the greatest teams its just some very good teams against eachother

admin answers:

1. Cowboys 32-21
2. Patriots 53-51
3. Steelers 21-3
4. Rams 48-34

Laura asks…

Who do you want to be on the cover of Madden 12?

Aaron Rodgers
Peyton Hillis
Adrian Peterson
Michael Vick

For me Vick has already been on it in 2004, so even though he had an amazing season he's out of the running. Although Peyton Hillis or Adrien Peterson would be a refreshing step away from the quickly becoming QB dominated cover I think Aaron Rodgers really deserves it the most. He put the team on his back all the way to the through the postseason in a team riddled with injuries. Some people state that it's becoming way too oriented towards picking the Super Bowl MVP, but doesn't that title just really describe how much that player earned it?

Originally in a debate over whether he or Alex Smith would be the number 1 pick of the draft, Aaron Rodgers fell 24 draft picks waiting for a painfully long 4 and a half hours to see where he would land before finally being drafted by the Green Bay Packers.
After waiting patiently and quietly for 3 years Aaron Rodgers took up probably the most difficult task in the NFL following up one of it's greatest legends. He endured the drama that teared the Green Bay team away from it's a player that had been the face of the team for 16 years.
He performed well his first starting season in 2008 throwing for over 4000 yards and throwing 28 TD's. Despite his solid performance the team dropped to 6-10 just after a 13-3 season lead by Favre. In 2009 the team was much improved overall and made the playoffs as a wild card, but lost to the Cardinals. Aaron Rodger threw 4 TD's and 400 yard this game, but the Cardinals just edged out the win after a questionable fumble that resulted in the Cardinals getting the final score winning 51-45 in an incredibly high scoring game. The next year in 2010 the Packers were determined. This was their year to shine and many sports analysts predicted them representing the NFC in the Super Bowl. They won their first two games against the Eagles and the Bills. Unfortunately they lost Ryan Grant their former star running back coming off back-to-back 1,200 yard seasons. They then started to plumet losing three out of the next four and losing star TE Jermichael Finley along with many other players getting sent to injured reserve. However in the darkest moment, the Packers began to show life again winning 4 straight games. In facing the Falcons Aaron displayed incredible talent in the clutchest of clutch with a last minute bullet to Jordy Nelson in the endzone, tying the score. Poor Special Teams, however let the Falcons take good enough field position to get within field goal range and score three points in the game's last few seconds. Aaron Rodgers then took the Packers to beat the 49ers. But then the Packers came to another stumbling block. They lost to the Lions after an offense wouldn't get going and Rodgers suffered a concussion. They lost another close one to the Patriots with Matt Flynn under center.
From this moment on it was a win or go home scenario for the Green Bay Packers. Aaron Rodgers recovered very well and decimated the Giants and just got a win over the hated rival the Bears.
Aaron Rodgers then took this horribly injured team through the top 3 seeds in the NFC. Against Mike Vick's miraculous return to the NFL on the Eagles, decimated the #1 seeded Falcons in his greatest performance to date. Throwing 31 of 36 for 366 yards, 3 TD's and a rushing TD. He struggled his way through their hated rival once more putting them away for good. Then went on to pick apart the toughest defense in the league to win the Super Bowl. He more than earned his MVP.

I decided to vote for the protagonist of the story posted above.
THIS IS QUITE LENGTHY I REALIZE. The 1st paragraph is important the rest is just a short summary of Aaron Rodger's NFL career so far. You may read it if you like.
@miamithrice6
I didn't vote for Michael Vick for the same reason I didn't vote for Drew Brees. Michael Vick has already been on the cover in 2004.
@roy g
Really all you need to read is the first paragraph. The rest is a biography of Aaron Rodgers.

admin answers:

Lets write a whole 3 pages worth of decsion making over who should be on the cover.

Questions About Nfl Scores Seahawks
