Questions About Nfl Box Scores

Daniel asks…

I'm looking for NFL box scores going back to the 1970s.. Excel formatted would be nice.?

admin answers:

I'm not quite sure how you get box scores from games in excel format? You can get the scores from every NFL game ever played from this site, but the boxscores only go back to 1996.

Chris asks…

What does PF or PA mean in the NFL box score?

admin answers:

Points for, points against

Points for is how many points that team has scored all season. Against is how many points the other teams have put up on them. They accumulate the whole season.

Thomas asks…

Is there any way to look up which NFL games had which officials?

I've checked the box scores at NFL.com, but they don't seem list the official's name (as baseball box scores do). I'm doing some analysis on point spread variations with different officiating crews and need more data.

admin answers:

You need to go to the gamebook for the specific game...the link is in the top right hand corner of the game's main page on NFL.com
For example....Thursday night's game
