Paul asks…

nfl network and comcast!!!!!!!!?

http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story?id=09000d5d81065fa0&template=without-video-with-comments&confirm=true

i just read on nfl website that comcast and nfl network finally agreed to a ten year contract...i have comcast, will i have to subscribe to nfl network channel,if so how much? and does this whole deal mean that the nfl sunday ticket will be available to pay for?

admin answers:

No, you don't have to subscribe. NFL Network was already available for Comcast, but they were about to discontinue carrying it because NFL Network was charging Comcast too much money, but they settled on a new deal. It's included in the sports package, which is less than $20, annd comes with other sports channels too. I think that NFL sunday ticket is available only for Direct TV customers but i'm not sure.

Daniel asks…

why cant i watch the mlb network channel on comcast?

i already have the nba nhl and nfl channels so why cont i watch this one?

admin answers:

As of now, conflicting answers from Comcast and MLB Network. Double check w/Comcast in your area. You may have to choose whether to upgrade your cable package(more $ per month), or complain to Comcast.

Per call to Comcast rep, I will have to pay $15 extra for "Digital Classic" package, over my "Digital Starter", to watch it

But,per MLB Network CEO Tony Pettiti, "If you have digital cable," Petitti said, "you're going to get the Network." see link below at mlbnetwork.mlb.com

"According to MLB Network, the distribution deal brokered with all carriers is that all must broadcast on the digital basic, or the carrier’s equivalent, a key difference from early reports. " see link below at Bizofbaseball.com

Bizofbaseball.com is taking viewer access complaints to MLB Network. They would like some basic info from anyone in similar situation. Please add your info at their site, linked below.

This looks like a possible national dispute between MLB and Comcast(who owns a % of MLB Network) on what "digital basic" means.
