Questions About Nfl Conferences Chart

Sandra asks…

NCAA Football League Layout?

I am familiar with the layout of the NFL's layout, two division, eight conferences... but how does college football work? How is the champion concluded? Does anyone have a chart or another way to explain? Thanks!

admin answers:

11 conferences (ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Big XII, Pac-10,SEC, C-USA,MAC,Mountain West,Sun Belt,WAC), as well as 4 individual teams, making up 120 teams in Division 1. The first six conferences mentioned are the "BCS" conferences, meaning they get an automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls (bear with me)

Each team plays 12 games (usually 8 against conference opponents, and the rest against other schools) Simple goal is to become conference champion, by having best conference record, and in those conference with title games, winning the title game.

The national champion is determined by the BCS (Bowl Championship Series) poll at the end of the year. The BCS poll combines the Associated Press Top 25 poll, the Coaches poll, as well as a variety of computer rankings to determine the top 2 teams at the end of the year. Those teams playing the BCS National Championship.

At the end of the year, there are bowl games, which are both a way for teams to celebrate their season with a nationally televised game against an even opponent, and a way for money to be made.

There are 31 bowl games, and teams need to go 6-6 (at least) to qualify

Their are 5 major bowls (Rose,Orange,Fiesta,Sugar and the BCS title game)

6 of the 10 spots are reserved for the winners of those BCS conferences, with the other 4 given to the next best teams (at-large bids)

The BCS title game is between #1 and #2 in the final poll.
Rose: Pac-10 champ vs. Big 10 champ
Fiesta: Big XII Champ vs. At-Large
Sugar: SEC Champ vs. At-large
ACC:ACC Champ vs. At-large

Say the BCS title game selected the BIG XII champ and SEC champ as #1 #2, they would play for the BCS title, and their spots in the Fiesta and Sugar bowls would be filled by the remaining at-large bids.

That's as simple as I can make it.

Mark asks…

Is it possible to do this in Microsoft Excel 2007 or Microsoft Access 2007?

Can I, for example, copy and paste charts numbers from the Internet and paste them into Excel or Access and have the different sets of numbers in different fields?

For example, can I paste all the stats from the following page and have player, team, games, QB rating, touchdowns, etc. come out in different fields?

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/stats/bycategory?cat=Passing&sort=4&conference=NFL

Or how about if I just have the following numbers formatted like this:

1 108 456 34 89

Can I make paste those into the programs and make them come out in different fields?

Thanks in advance
That didn't work...all it did was make a very long first field

admin answers:

I have just tried your team stats, and they paste perfectly into Excel. Just copy the table of stats, nothing else.

With your numbers there are two steps. First paste them into Excel.
Then select the cell, and on the menu go to Data -> Text to columns. Select "Delimited" and tick "Space" as your delimiter. This will split the cell into 5 cells.

Robert asks…

Why do the bears not do the following?

The Chicago Bears have more than enough talent to take on ANY team in the NFL. from the green bay nfl babies to the new england patriots. In the off season the jack ass GM decides it's a good idea to trade their best O weapon next to forte...Greg Olsen....for a 3rd round pick and leave them with the lazy kellen davis....wow......the draft was a mess too..you draft a QB in the 5th round just to not use him when cutler goes down and hanie is an INT machine....interesting....you draft a beast DT to replace harris (like this move) but then do nothing with him because you want toeina in there ...and adams......really? So with this being said..how about this.. 1) FIRE LOVIE SMITH..his bone head calls, lack of motivation and adjustments, misuse of time outs, mis-management of the roster, misuse of the depth chart etc are all evidence over years of his post 2006 career and he is terrified of change...get rid of him and bring in a new and excited head coach (like the 49ers did)....2) FIRE MIKE MARTZ...predictable offense, poor play calling, (he says it's just too complicated) if that's the case then change it dumb ass. bone head beliefs, almost non existant tight end use. Bring in an OC with a better idea of what play calling is. 3) Cut or trade the following players and bid farewell forever Kellen Davis *drops passes all the time, 3rd most penalized tight end in the league as in false starts, OPI, etc. TILLMAN AND JENNINGS BOTH! (NEITHER OF THESE GUYS CAN COVER A RECEIVER! OMG tillman leads the league in FF for CB's...great..so you're letting the WR catch it then praying you can knock it out..well when you don't...*btw 4 - 7 FF's over 16 games...wow* how many yards is that? how many 3rd down conversions is that? and jennings is WAAAAYY too under sized to match up with HUGE WR's in their divisions like megatron and jennings...he is always called for DPI because he gets beat all the time...Frank Omiyale..really?....J'marcus Webb..big..slow..dumb....with those guys gone...bring in some new talent..they will NOT perform worse...and finally...the biggest move the bears could make that can REALLY set the difference......FIRE...JERRY....ANGELO!!!!!! OMG..this guy is an idiot in every sense of the word when it comes to football. Routinely drafts wrong positions, refuses to make hard decisions AND easy decisions lol...THe bears need a brand new front office with some enthusiasm..look at their rivals...the jerk off packers...they are worshipped by the NFL and aside from funny green bay incidents >> have a front office that KNOWS football and their head coach is excited...I mean the bears coach has no emotion...ever....even during a press conference...against the broncos you call plays ...running plays over and over and over and over against one of the best defenses in the NFL with over 5 mins left and a 2 minute warning + they have 2 TO's.....and they make their mark on 4th qtr wins...seriously? If the bears made these moves I am NOT saying they would be invincible..but at the VERY least they would show great improvement..I am CONFIDENT about that. What do you think?

Madden 11 whats your Take?

Im getting sick of madden ive been buying madden for years now but madden 10 was the last straw for me im waiting until madden 11 comes out so i can find out what new features their are if Franchise mode or Superstar mode has not been improved upon im not buying it this year every year madden gets it in its head that the fans want better graphics i dont care about graphics i want these game modes fixed first that should be their first priority Like this imagine in franchise mode espn or half time shows improved they talk about your teams performance and a couple other teams around the league and maybe a half time interview and every week a espn show or something talking about the weeks games and next weeks games and the keys to victory and maybe a player like T.O says something at a press conference and they talk about what he said
shows before the draft giving a mock draft and telling what needs each team needs to fill and whose best for them and make hiring coaches more important team morale a traded player affects ticket and jersey sales players get in off field transgressions stop being up tight and trying to look perfect nfl we know their is some times altercations now in superstar mode make us more involved have or agents ask to set us up with interviews half time interviews and i dont wanna start always 1 on the depth chart let me work my way up prove my self thats what truly happens in the nfl also when i start dont let me start with the rookie class of tim tebow and sam bradford make us play are last year of college or some thing so that way we can be drafted as 1 next year maybe put some new roles in the game weekly practice matters let me do some barging for my next contract negotiate a price possibly let us choose whether we want to go out tonight maybe some off field transgressions happen maybe our created super star get fined or suspended depending how we act
But i wanna know your ideas and what you thought of mine?

admin answers:

It seems like you have some good ideas so why don't you go to Madden11.com and post them. They listen to what the fans have to say and they make adjustements to the game.
