Donald asks…

NFL network?

Do you think this would be a good solution to that week 17 problem for everybody who doesn't have NFL Network?

Incase you didn't know...The Pats and Giants game is only being shown on the NFL network. It could be the biggest regular season game in years, and a lot of people won't see it.

Please discuss.

admin answers:

A la carte. That is what will fix everything. The cable companies don't want to carry the NFL network because they say the NFL charges too much and it's a niche channel.

If all satellite and cable providers which to an a la carte format, then customers can pick and choose the channels they want to pay for.

This will make the NFL the bad guy because it won't be cable companies complaining about the price, it will be fans complaining about the price.

Call you congressmen and tell them to switch from packages to a la carte!

Michael asks…

NFL Network.......?

I've seen commercials for the NFL Network and it says it will launch Thanksgiving day. My question is, will we not be able to watch football games on stations such as FOX, CBS, or ESPN if we don't have the NFL Network?

admin answers:

NFL Network has condensed replays of 4 games each week for now. In a few weeks they start showing Thursday night games. Not sure if in the "local" markets if the NFL network will sub out the rights to a local station so that for instance the Steelers fans can watch the Browns beat them on December 7th.

Betty asks…

nfl network?

As a huge football fan, I resent the NFL Network trying to get more money out of me just so I can watch games. I pay enough for cable. Does anyone feel the same as I do? Anyone have the NFL Network? Is it worth it?

admin answers:

Kind of. Yes. Only on Thursdays. To explain the kind of, NFL network is not trying to get more money out of YOU, they are using their business savvy to get more money from your cable provider, who has chosen not to spend the money to make it available to you. I have NFL network as part of my basic cable programming because I don't have Time-Warner cable. Most of the programming on NFL network is really boring (think sportscenter over and over again w/out any updates and only football related info) but it's the only place to watch those non sunday games, so...
